YOUNIQUE

Our Story

More than fashion. A movement.

It started with three bolts of Ankara

In 2019, a suitcase of fabric came home from Lagos and never made it back into storage. What began as pieces sewn for family became a waitlist, then a label. YOUNIQUE was built on the belief that African print deserves the same reverence as any European house.

Cut small, made properly

Every collection is produced in short runs with a small team of makers across Adelaide and Lagos. We buy fabric by the bolt, not the container. Nothing is mass-produced, and nothing is finished until it hangs the way it should.

Worn from Adelaide to Accra

Our pieces show up at weddings, naming ceremonies, graduations and Tuesday afternoons. The brief has never changed: make something a person feels entirely themselves in.

What We Stand On

Three non-negotiables.

Cultural Pride

Prints chosen with meaning, credited to their origins, and never flattened into a trend.

Quality Craftsmanship

Small-run tailoring, hand-finished seams and fabric selected bolt by bolt.

Community First

A portion of every collection supports textile artisans and youth programs.

“I wanted my daughters to open a wardrobe and see themselves in it.”
