YOUNIQUE Fashion respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website at youniquefashion.com.au, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.
YOUNIQUE Fashion is based in Marion, South Australia. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address, along with the details of what you bought. We need all of this to take payment and get your order to you.
When you create an account, we store the details you give us and the orders linked to that account. Your password is held by our store software and is not visible to us.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write to us.
When you leave a product review, we collect the name you choose to display, your rating and your review text. Approved reviews are published publicly on the product page, so only use a name you are comfortable showing.
We do not collect sensitive information such as health, racial or religious details, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
WHAT YOUR BROWSER STORES
Our website saves three things in your own browser so the store works:
- younique-cart-v2
- what is in your shopping bag
- younique-wishlist-v1
- items you have saved to your wishlist
- younique-currency-v1
- the currency you chose to shop in
Your wishlist and your currency choice stay on your device. We do not receive them and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
Your shopping bag also stays on your device while you browse. When you choose to go to checkout, the contents of your bag are sent to us so we can prepare your order. The wishlist and currency preferences stored in your browser are not included in this checkout handoff.
Clearing your browser data will remove all three, which will empty your bag and your wishlist.
Our checkout and account pages also use cookies to keep you signed in and keep your order together while you pay. Checkout will not work without them.
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the cookies our checkout needs will stop you from being able to complete an order.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use what we collect to take payment, fulfil and deliver your order, keep you updated on its progress, manage your account, answer your questions, handle returns and exchanges, publish reviews you choose to submit, and keep the store secure and working.
We may also email you after your order to invite you to review what you bought. You can ignore it, and tell us if you would rather not receive them.
We do not currently send marketing or newsletter emails. If we start, we will ask for your consent first and every email will have a one-click unsubscribe. We will not add you to a marketing list simply because you bought something.
WHERE YOUR INFORMATION IS HELD
Some of the services above operate servers outside Australia, so your information may be stored or processed overseas. We take reasonable steps to use providers that protect it appropriately, but we cannot control the laws of every country a provider operates in.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We retain order and transaction information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate our business and to meet applicable legal, tax, accounting and consumer-law obligations.
Account details are kept while your account is open. Reviews stay published until removed. Emails are kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
KEEPING IT SAFE
Our site uses encrypted connections, and payment details are handled by the payment processor rather than by us. We limit who can see customer information.
No website can promise perfect security. If something goes wrong in a way that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete information we no longer need, or ask us to stop emailing you. Email info@youniquefashion.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Some information we cannot delete on request, because tax and consumer law requires us to keep order records.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first at info@youniquefashion.com.au so we can look into it and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner on 1300 363 992 or at www.oaic.gov.au.
CHILDREN
We sell products for children, but orders and customer accounts should be managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children.
LINKS TO OTHER SITES
Our store links to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Those platforms have their own privacy policies and collect their own information when you visit them. We are not responsible for what they do.
CHANGES
We will update this policy when how we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change we will say so on the website.
